Welcome to our website

This is an on-going record of how we've taken a brand-new Fiat panel van and cut big holes in it to convert what remains into a motorhome. We hope anyone contemplating building a motorhome will find encouragement here. With careful planning, modest diy skills, a few basic tools, and a little determination it can be done.

Whilst the van is fully converted, some pages may be incomplete as there is still some work to be done. It is surprising how, over time (and as one grows older!), things that were fine when one started no longer work so well. Also if we believe we could have done something better, we'll change it!

A truly idyllic spot with perfect weather! All alone on a Caravan and Camping Club 'Hideaway' farm site - about 3 miles from Coldstream in the Scottish Borders region. £6 per night, but don't drink the water - without boiling it first!

On the road again...

After some prolonged health problems for us both, we've finally managed to fit in a couple of weeks holiday between hospital appointments and escape in Deep Red - Hooray!!

Deciding to stay in the UK, we headed for the east of Scotland taking in two Camping and Caravanning Club 'sites for holidays', run by some fine Yorkshire folks, along the way. These are great rallies in good locations at very little cost, typically £9 per night. We were blessed with fine warm weather for virtually the whole 17 days - gosh! A write-up on the trip should appear in the Gallery shortly and, hopefully, we'll include some facts and figures as it surprising what one can do for quite modest amounts.
