Welcome to our website

This is an on-going record of how we've taken a brand-new Fiat panel van and cut big holes in it to convert what remains into a motorhome. We hope anyone contemplating building a motorhome will find encouragement here. With careful planning, modest diy skills, a few basic tools, and a little determination it can be done.

Whilst the van is fully converted, some pages may be incomplete. Parts of the van need finishing off and, as we continue to make improvements, those parts are work-in-progress. It is surprising how, over time (and as one grows older!), things that were fine when one started no longer work so well and need to be changed.

Sunny days touring in Deep Red...
On the Isle of Skye, Inner Hebrides, Scotland.
Yes, the sun does shine there - sometimes!

After months of noise and dust at home while the local council replaced all the street paving, we finally managed to escape for a couple of weeks to Scotland. We stopped along the way at some Camping and Caravanning Club 'Sites for Holidays' and an MCC Yorkshire group rally (all of which were on Rugby Club grounds!).
These are great places to stop; one can come and go as you please, there is no requirement to join in any social activities, and the cost is usually around £7-9 per night, so excellent value for anyone on a budget and us pensioners!
