This is an on-going record of how we've taken a brand-new Fiat panel van and cut big holes in it to convert what remains into a motorhome. We hope anyone contemplating building a motorhome will find encouragement here. With careful planning, modest diy skills, a few basic tools, and a little determination it can be done.
Whilst the van is fully converted, there are some parts which still have to be finished off (is anything ever finished?), so those sections may be incomplete.
Sunny days touring in Deep Red...
Camping Villasol, Benidorm, Spain.
We managed to escape a chilly early-Spring England for three lovely weeks in sunny Spain. Our route from Calais down the western side of France was very enjoyable as the weather was beginning to warm up, although we did use an electric convector fire at night to keep the temperature around 16degC (I'm a cold mortal!).
The route included two campsites owned by Brits; at the second site, near Agen, we missed out on the weekly Friday fish and chip night as we were just too tired that day! Mid-March is a good time to go to Spain as the rates are low, typically 18 Euro inc. electric per night, and many of the open-all-year sites have lots of spaces vacated by over-wintering motorhomers returning home.
